I attended this school from 2nd grade to 6th grade and had a wonderful experience there. This school will be great for any student going there because the teachers take the time to help and work with you so you have a chance of doing well. The projects that got assigned were unique, especially the Invention Convention, because they brought out our creativity. The teachers that I had were polite and understanding and the other teachers were nice too whenever I was with them. It is an amazing school because they had fun parties planned for the students to participate in.This school was enjoyable and I miss it. I left the school in June of 2016 and went to another one but I will definitely remember PSOLI fondly. 😉 ~ Rama

We transferred our daughter into Progressive midyear last year. My daughter was having a miserable time in first grade until we transferred her! It was the best decision we could have made. She now loves to go to school. The staff is extremely dedicated to the students as well as the school. Learning is hands on, creative and very enriched. My daughter doesn't even know what a test is! Assessment is performance based and the curriculum is customized for each child. There is a strong sense of community and family. My daughter told me there are no bullies at Progressive!

This is a school that has a staff that truly cares about the individual child. Each professional, be it teacher, support staff, and especially the principal, knows the child they are working with and treats the children with respect and concern. There is more than academics to this school (and the academics are excellent) there is character-building. Having had other children who went to public school, I only wish I had found this school earlier, my daughter really lucked out that I found PSOLI!

The school and all the staff are kind and wonderful people. They helped me when I need it the most. The teachers are great and thy are always ready to help the students. They encourage me always to try my best. They make learning about serious subjects like science and social studies in a fun way. I will always be thankful for allowing to be part of their family.

This is my eighth year at PSOLI. I have no idea where I would be without this place. The amazing staff, my amazing classmates; I'm so happy that my parents found this place. When I was just starting, I was a shy, little four year-old. I was able to read, but not at a very high level, I wasn't very good with math, and my grammar was TERRIBLE! Now, I am just beginning seventh grade, and in eight years, I have won an academic achievement award from President Obama, I am a near school spelling bee champion, I am on a Lego Robotics team, I am the co-editor in chief in our school newspaper club, I have gone to AUSTRALIA as a student ambassador, and this year I will be taking ninth-grade math! I probably could not have done any of this without Progressive School of Long Island!
