A wonderful day out on our wine tour with Riste!

The wineries visited were much smaller than other tours I have been on, had a much more boutique feel. The tastings were more personal, it felt like sitting around a family dining table chatting away rather than a “lesson” or sales pitch. All the wines were delicious and it was great meeting a new generation of wine makers.

Riste was a great guide, he answered all of our questions with expertise and ease. Sometimes car journeys with a relative stranger can be awkward but the drives were relaxed. The area itself is stunning. The restaurant booked for lunch was also a hit!

The booking process via Pier and Ciara was also a breeze and, again, all of our questions were responded to in a friendly, timely manner.

Honestly, can’t recommend these guys enough!

We had high expectations for our visit to Italy’s Langhe region with the Oneonthehill sommelier tour. Pier and Nicola were gracious and very knowledgeable hosts. We were picked up at our agritourismo and escorted to two wineries Paitin and Palladino. Both are family owned with one in Barbaresco and the other in Barolo. We learned a lot and tasted great wines. We ordered wine and Pier is taking care of the shipping. The winemakers were passionate about their vineyards and their wines. Our high expectations were exceeded. We highly recommend the Oneonthehill team. We now look forward to our cooking class with Fabio next week. Superb guides, great weather and even better wines. Pier and Nicola are passionate about the Langhe region wines and food. They took great care of us.

A very special experience – huge thanks to Pier and the wonderful winemakers and experts we were introduced to during our one-day wine experience. From the first contact to the day itself, this experience feels personalised and full of the passion Pier and Chiara have packed into every aspect of One on the Hill (which goes far beyond one day). Whatever the level of your wine knowledge, you’ll feel at ease and like you have an inside track to the wonders of Langhe wine and the unique Piemonte charm. We had an incredible day exploring the Barolo and Barbaresco regions with Pierre. The wineries we visited were amazing, small producers where we met individuals who were truly passionate about the wines they make…which is easy because of how delicious they all are! The entire experience was amazing, from learning about the region and visiting wineries, an excellent lunch in a local restaurant, and not to mention the beautiful drive around the area. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing day of visiting wineries and exploring new wines with Nic, our guide. He customized our trip according to our interests and picked an interesting mix of wineries to visit. He was very knowledgeable and also very pleasant to be with. We had a great time and also learned a lot. Nic also went above and beyond to assist us with the shipping of wines that we purchased.
