ModernBrain has been great with helping my son learn how to be more confident while speaking in public. Not just while giving a speech, but just everyday encounters talking to adults. He has developed interests in certain topics that he’d never thought of before because he all of a sudden finds that he has to debate a certain issue. It’s eye-opening and broadening his mind, but without seeming like he is in school. As the parent, I think the coach is wonderfully supportive and challenges my child to seek improvement. I really appreciate how much time the coach gives me when I ask a lot of questions. When entering the tournaments for the first time I was very confused but our coach took a lot of time to help me. From what I have seen, this class helps my son speak more efficiently. He doesn’t ramble as much and tries to make his points clearer. My son says he really enjoys the class and feels like it helps him learn how to think about things from all angles. He also tells me that he likes how he gets to talk about things that he normally wouldn’t talk. Totally 5++++ stars for ModernBrain!!!

My daughter took their AP economics course and really enjoyed it. The teacher was clear and very helpful. A few students from this class entered the NEC competition recently and won 3rd place in the state round. After taking this class, my daughter feels she is well prepared for the incoming AP economics exams.

I found Modernbrain via Google search last year. Our plan was to take a summer course to see if this place was a good fit for my oldest daughter. It did not take long to find out. Before the summer was over, we signed up to continue in fall and spring sessions. Coach Miles and Coach Ari have been excellent. Yilin, co-founder, and Lily, administrative officer, are very supportive and caring. Now, my second daughter has joined her older sister at Modernbrain. If your child loves competing in speech tournaments and if you want to help them to get to the next level, look no further and give Modernbrain a try.

Coach Scott Wheeler is the greatest teacher I have ever had, and, in my honest opinion, the best debate coach of all time. My endeavors in policy debate under the eminent tutelage of Scott Wheeler coupled with the guidance of his corp of experienced and dedicated ModernBrain alumni have provided a gateway through which I can make close friends, develop ironclad relationships with some of the premier student-intellectuals in the nation, comprehensively improve my writing, research, public speaking, critical thinking, and advocacy skills (which is reflected in my stellar academic performance post-involvement), and give myself a voice. The activity itself is also incredibly fun and fulfilling - especially when you do it surrounded with your friends and can see yourself improve. We go to lots of tournaments throughout the country where you make friends and talk to new, diverse groups of people and eat lots of delicious food.

Mr Wheeler is the greatest teacher I have ever had, and, in my honest opinion, the best debate coach of all time. He gives us suggestions that are pretty fine and nice. I’ve had a very nice time debating under ModernBrain.

ModernBrain has become a platform for our children to boost and rise up from. They have supported their interests, passions and talents in public speaking, debate, and rhetoric in a special way that allows for challenge, growth, inspiration and happiness. We have seen their confidence and public speaking skills grow tremendously through the program, but above all, they have formed strong bonds with their teachers as mentors and are excited for class every week!

Modernbrain is such a great place! The coaches are very nice, energetic and friendly, and really help me improve my public speaking. (They've gone through the roof ever since I came here.) Also, the tournaments Modernbrain go to are very fun. Highly recommend!
