Studying abroad was a transformative experience that exceeded all my expectations. ISI Florence contributed greatly to this, as this program provided a great balance of dedicated academics and embracing the experiential learning of traveling. The staff members were friendly and helpful. My professors were experienced, pushed me, and genuinely cared about our abroad experience. Admittedly, these courses were more intense than I had expected at times. Regardless, the opportunity to travel every weekend was priceless, and I could not recommend it more.

Studying with ISI this summer has been an a great experience. I have really enjoyed exploring Florence and traveling to other places around Europe. ISI has optional activities you can participate in which is great way to meet other people. I have especially enjoyed my COMM 310 (social media and social food) class and will be able to use my skills that I have learned when I return home. We went on lots of field trips and saw places that I would’ve not found otherwise. Overall it has been a great experience and I recommend taking the opportunity to study here if you can!

I loved ISI Florence! My Monday through Thursday schedule gave me the perfect amount of time for weekend trips and travel! My professors have all been amazing, and I have learned so much about Italy since being in this program! The location of my apartment and classes was also very ideal.

ISI has truly given me the best experience ever. My professor Marco gave me the tools I needed to succeed in Europe. I was able to travel the travel to many countries and places while still keeping up with my school work. I loved emerging into the culture of Italy as well as other countries. ISI was always responsive and accommodating and I always felt safe here. If I had one piece of advice for my fellow students at UCONN, come! Come and experience this once in a life time opportunity!

I really liked studying abroad through ISI Florence. It allowed me to learn about the city I was living in along with allowing me to travel on the weekends. However, not being able to skip ANY classes even when it’s “excused” due to illness is insane. They should allow more lenience especially since the students chose to study abroad here to be able to travel Florence and other cities. Some teachers were amazing like my Italian teacher. He was awesome and taught us useful things to use while staying here. While other teachers - not so much.

Studying with ISI Florence this past summer has been the more amazing experience! All of the ISI staff have been so helpful and have made for the best support network throughout my time here. I am especially grateful to have had Marco De La Pierre as my teacher for the “Social Media, Social Food” class. The field trips and class excursions he took us on were so much fun and really enhanced my experience and knowledge of the city. I could not have asked for a better place to call home for the summer!
