I completed B1 intermediate level having started in October 2022 - June 2024. A total of 5 class semesters. I can say my Spanish has greatly improved. I was lucky enough to have 3 different Profesoras, natives from 3 different countries. Most recently Profesora Claudia, her approach to teaching Spanish is full immersion and practical, she puts her heart into teaching Spanish for sure. She made sure all students in the class speak and write their ideas, and corrects when needed. One thing I suggest to perspective students is to constantly immerse yourself every day in learning something new in Spanish. You will not improve without practicing outside of the classroom. However I believe studying formally in Instituto Cervantes is an important foundation that is challenging and rewarding!

Very low quality of education here, it's a waste of time and money. My husband started on level A2.1 all the way to the level B1.2 (6 courses total), and haven't improved his Spanish at all. He constantly expresses how disappointing the teachers are, totally unprofessional and unprepared, not following the textbook material, teaching useless local slang of their own regions, and just improvising the whole 3 hours the classes last. It seems this school just picks up any native speaker from the street that doesn't even have proper formation to teach languages neither care to do their job well, but instead take this school as another side hustle. The schedules options and availability of intensive and regular courses isn't consistent, there's always some holidays and seasons during which they don't offer classes at all like during the entire summer, so your learning process is kind of intermittent; also the teachers will be different every time (from bad to worse). It's a shame that such a respected institution as Instituto Cervantes, funded by the government of Spain, is such a circus.

I had an amazing experience learning Spanish here! Starting from the first level, Claudia was a fantastic teacher and I felt like I learned a lot and the other students were similarly invested.

Very beautiful and nicely run European culture center. Had fun attending a Maltese book reading at the center. The place is located in nicely looking building and got an attractive entrance.

If you are interested in learning Spanish - Instituto Cervantes is your place! Big variety of courses of different levels and interests, courses for kids. Small groups. Certified teachers with extensive experience all native speakers. Teachers are from different latin countries that allows you to learn particularities of local language. Interactive learning tools available. Library allows to rent books and learning materials, as well as DVDs and music. Digital library is available. There is an exhibition gallery and movie showings. It is not a cheap place - but it is worth the price and quality is great. At the end you can pass an official certification Dele that is required if you wish to study in Spain or other Spanish speaking organization. I have started my courses 1,5 years ago - I am now able to read original books and watch movies and TV channels with complicated language without any problem. I can speak more or less free. And this is just in 1,5 years!

I'm very dissapointed with Cervantes. I'll will . not recommend their academic department, very inexperienced and not very keen to help to the customers

I'm from Spain so I want to get some Spanish lessons for my kid on the weekends at the beginning of Septemeber I requested to look for Spanish teacher for my son. After one month and a half, and calling them several times, they can not provide us with any services. It's a very unexperienced academic department and without a reliable administration. If you can not provide the service, please inform your customer right away and do not create false expectations.
