I completed 5 weeks of study at this school, and was very satisfied with the school, the program and especially the instructors. While there was an emphasis on grammar, that was what I expected. There was plenty of time spent on oral comprehension, written work, speaking and pronunciation, and it is embedded within the course as you learn the grammar. The corrections to errors made while speaking were persistent but gentle and I quickly learned to modify what I was saying (or how I was saying it). Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this school. Be realistic in your expectations and consider what level you are at and how much time you are going to spend improving your ability to speak and understand French. The more time you can put into it the better. Nevertheless, some time is better than none, and you are certain to learn something useful here. For me, it was a very enjoyable 5 weeks.

The school is small with only three classrooms of three different levels, which makes it difficult to make friends at the beginning. The week I started (24 July) only 4 more students started, so do not expect a big school.
The teaching methodologies are quite old-fashioned: plenty of photocopies of grammar and vocab, no listening exercises at all and very few readings. No projectors or interactive screens. Teachers are nice and kind but the method is very old.
No air conditioning which make classes difficult to follow.
Not bad for the price you pay but, definitely, if you can pay a bit more, go for a more reputated school.

First off I would like to say that the teachers at this school were amazing. I believe that they deserve to teach at a much better school. My experience with my host family was horrendous. I was falsely accused of doing things with no actual proof from my host family. The family was constantly disrespecting me and my roommates and sometimes even made fun of us for not speaking French very well. She would get mad at us for the smallest things. The director of this school is down right awful. He disrespected my classmates and was extremely disrespectful to my group leader. Just look at some of the other reviews and you will know what kind of man he really is.They would not listen to me and my friends when we wanted to switch host families. They only took the side of the families and would hardly let us explain our side of the story. I wish I could give this school zero stars. 10/10 would not recommend anybody to attend this school.

The professors are fine. However, some of the families should not be hosting students. They are only interested in the money they can make. Not all families are bad but no family should treat students poorly. The problem is that the owner of the school was unable and probably unwilling to take care of the problem created by the families that hosted some of my students. A family that only gives a slice of bread for breakfast is unacceptable. Another family that refuses to have students in her house during the afternoon because the host mother wants nobody in her house in the afternoon is also unacceptable. A host mother that demands for students to be out all afternoon even though students just arrived in France and still have to adjust to the jet lag is unacceptable. Another family that dares to give a 10 PM curfew to 20 year old students because they do not want to be disturbed in the evening is unacceptable. Another family that is giving one single house key to three students because the family does not want to spend money to have more keys made and therefore forces the 3 hosted students to return home at the same time is also totally unacceptable. The director did not want to be disturbed with these complications and dares to get impatient with students' complaints is also unacceptable. A director that agrees to give one extra hour of French class to a group of students in exchange for extra fee but failed to give this extra hour of learning and does not want to return the money is a shame. Again, I will say some families were very good but all families are expected to do a very good job in hosting students, it is what they are paid for and it is what they agreed on but unfortunately some families were simply horrible and the school was unable to offer new families to students.

Rude and arrogant would be the two words that best describe my impression of the staff at this school after having tried to secure some basic information. Due to the very poor experience, I decided to spend my money at another school with a better ranking and better value for the money. Do your homework before settling on this school.

After reading some of the comments about this school I felt it necessary to add my experience from 1989. After taking introductory French classes at night school, I decided to sign up with this group when I found myself going to Europe for a conference. I thought the quality of instruction was exceptional and the family I lived with for 2 weeks just delightful!

The family I lived with said they did not speak English (although I'm not sure that was the case!) and so it forced me to communicate in French at the dinner table.

By the end of the two weeks my mouth hurt from forming sounds it had never made before. In addition, I found myself dreaming in French!!

When I returned to San Diego and enrolled in a conversational French course it was required that everyone give a 20 minute talk on any subject in French. While everyone else read their talk, I found I was able to just stand up and talk without any notes about my subject, "Les Differences entre les vins de Californie et les vins de Bordeaux". Everyone loved it, but maybe that was because I was able to pass out samples for them to taste!

In any event, at 72 yrs. of age now I still look back on that experience as one of the most memorable in my life. Alors, merci beaucoup, Actilange , pour tout les chose!

I can really recommend this language school in Nice. I enjoyed my time there very much for a few weeks in summer 2021. Unfortunately I had to leave a bit earlier than expected due to illness in my very close family. But I will be back soon!

J'avais pris des cours de francais ici presque en 2004. Je rapelle Mr. Michel. Il etait tres comique. On mouriait de rire. Quand meme, la plupart de mes amis n'etait pas content de ses logement/familles. J'etais d'accord avec le miens.
