I attended Basel School of Business for German lessons using the voucher provided by Basel-Stadt. They had a wide variety of class options and the school administration was responsive and extremely helpful in choosing which class was right for my needs. I also observed the school's staff interaction with their undergraduate students. Philip and Jackie really foster a fun family atmosphere and have a passion to help their students.

When we moved to Basel the first order of business was finding a good school to learn German. We reached out to several of the top schools and explored their websites. We discovered that most schools had little to superficial data online about their courses. Rather then visiting each one, we made several calls (sometimes 2-3 calls to the same school and were promised emails with more information that we never received). This happened time and again. At this point we had tried five schools with the same result. We thought we would have to visit each school in person just to get the information. Then we came across the Basel School of Business (BSB). It was the only school who had stellar information online so we called and spoke with Philip (the owner of the school). Philip was friendly, warm, engaging and most of all extremely helpful. After our call, he communicated to us via text to coordinate sitting in on a trial class the same day. We were very impressed with the small classroom sizes and the atmosphere of the school. They have a wonderful lounge (thank you for the espresso machine it’s been a lifesaver some mornings) where you often see student gathered to collaborate. We were able to meet his wife Jackie. They jointly run the school and you can tell it’s their baby. They truly love their students* and go out of their way to provide an exceptional learning environment. My spouse and I both signed up for the A1C German course and loved it! I highly recommend Patricia. She is a wonderful teacher with a colorful background and such a vibrant energetic personality. She makes it fun to learn and you can’t help but have a great day when you are around her.

*One of the students in the bachelor/masters program was previously a ballet dancer for the Balshoi. He was performing in a fundraiser ballet performance (Unterweld at the Elisabethen Kirche). Philip popped into class one day to invite us all to the show. He arranged a meeting point the school for introductions to other students a short walk for the performance together. This is a perfect example of student support that goes beyond education. If you are looking for a close knit school of caring individuals, you will not be disappointed.

Great German learning experience at BSB with their GermanPLUS program! I wanted to quickly learn German when I arrived in Basel, and while I had quite a few options I’m glad I chose BSB! The school fosters a very collegial and fun atmosphere - and our German lessons came to life when our teacher, Dominique, brought us to the annual Basel autumn fair (Herbstmesse) to practice our German live! I look forward to learning with BSB again!

This school is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys the process of studying.

In 2015 I met professor Carbonnel, who used to work at The Basel School of Business. She told me about the experiential learning that they apply at The BSB. She invited me to the school open door event where I fell in love with the school immediately.

It was the time when I felt like I needed to study something new but wasn’t sure what exactly. Professor Philip Weinberg talked so passionately about his marketing subject that the decision came there and then. But I never regretted it!

Now I’ve been working in marketing (after 8 years of finance roles) for almost a year & I feel it was the right choice to study it. My theoretical and practical knowledge in Digital marketing, Transformations marketing, Branding & Communication are helping me in my daily job.
